The Children's Museum of Manhattan
Located in historic Harlem, the Children's Museum of Manhattan has been teaching the children of New York City for over 30 years. Filled with multi cultural exhibit meant to be both educational as well as entertaining.
All exhibitions are interactive and hands-on. Kids will find a world of fantasy and their favorite TV characters to play and learn in.
Explore with Dora! gives kids a chance to explore a tropical world guided by their favorite Latina heroine. The exhibition gives kids the chance to build, play hide and seek, climb and of course learn in a multi-cultural environment.Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog teaches the little ones the virutes of sharing, respect and truthfulness. This interactive world features locations and characters from the famous children's books.
The Little West Side exhibit teaches and builds on the skills that kids ages 0 to 4 years of age need everyday such as math and reading in a recreation of a real city town. A clock tower teaches time telling and a library offers reading and story telling. During the Summer months, City Splash teaches the little ones about the scientific properties of water with hands-on learning stations. Kids will learn about the use of water for creating energy, race boats in a stream and even use water to paint a picture.
Guided tours are available for groups and schools with an advanced reservation. They also offer birthday party, rentals and educational programs for both students and teachers. Parking in Harlem is at a premium, a large charter bus can accommodate up to 61 passengers making it a great value when considering a school trip. Call (212)721-1223 ext. 225 to make reservations.
